Dont know about the rest of the games, but BF1 runs fine @4K with g-sync.

I'd wait on the gpu front, Considering the price & that Pascal's pretty old now (2 years?), the next gen isn't too far away (hopefully), The worst waiting will do is knock 1080ti prices down a bit and flood the secondhand market with 1080ti's from all the must have the latest gamers giving you more choices which is always a good thing.

Never done it, will have ago I have corsair all in one water cooler on it so will have a tinker not sure how but will try lol

Good point cheers

I can only give Arma 3 with my 5960x @4.5, 2666Mhz DDR4. 4K all settings ultra except PIP V high, no blur vision, 200% sharpening, 6200 view distance, 5000 object distance.
Single card 1080ti 8xMSAA/16xAF YAAB (benchmark) 33-35
SLI 1080ti 16xSSAA, 16xtransparency SSAA/16xAF (these settings only in SLI) YAAB 32fps

In game in 'warfare' CTI I get 40-70fps with occasional slows to 30-35.

Single player FPS is 50-70fps most of the time with drops to 35-40fps.

Yet another Arma benchmark (YAAB) is very AI intensive and King of the Hill multiplayer I get well over 60fps pretty much always (because CPU isn't running loads of AI calculations).

Also lower Arma 3 settings load the CPU rather than the GPU so sometimes it's better to increase settings rather than lower them.

I'm CPU limited but the 4K experience in Arma 3 with a single 1080ti is really very good. I definitely notice a vast improvement coming from 980TI not so much in FPS but image quality at the same FPS or increased view distance.
As others say get that CPU up to 4.5, I can immediately tell if my CPU is running at stock in Arma 3
so it makes a noticeable difference. Also Arma 3 and Dayz love fast memory with big gains going from 2133 to 4000Mhz.

Thanks for taking the time to post this much appreciated, I have not played Arma for a while will have to get it installed again I tend to stick to King of the hill (1000 hours ) ;)

I like your results your getting , it will be anough to make me happy while enjoying the bling.

I have now clocked the cpu to 4.5 I can see some difference in Squad so that's a good start.

Thanks all

@clubb699 , yeah hopefully buddy, think its the same engine as BF1.
It does use a few cores on my 6950X though

That's nice to know I personally thought the game runs well, specially on the 980ti at 4k i was getting 50 fps on ultra settings so should definitely be the same or even better on a 1080ti upwards

Yeah defo, when I had my [email protected] I did get some small stutter when intense battles were going on, but seems to be gone completely now with the extra cores on the 6950X.
