Ten most valuable things you own

House
Car
Pilots licence
Crypto hardware wallet
Watch
PC
Laptop
TV
Pilot headset
PC chair

Listed (roughly) in cost order (hardware wallet based on asset values). Mostly boring.

What's the point in having a large pension if you'll be mortgage free and you already live on a pittance?

Richest person in the graveyard?

Note: I'm not against putting into a pension.

I haven't really thought about it, it's just the most tax efficient place to put spare cash I don't need. If I die then I won't miss it and it'll give my nieces and nephews a leg up. :)

You're right though, I bet the dude on here that dumped everything to go live in Cornwall and surf as much as possible is way happier than anyone on here that thinks they are minted.

The ten most valuable people I own are worth far more than any silly inanimate possessions tbh.

Proof of time travel! Slavery hasn't been legal in London since 1772(*)

* There's some scope for debate about the actual date, so I've taken the date of the first formal legal ruling that slavery was illegal in the UK.

Who said anything about being legal?

Ten most valuable? In cash terms? After my car (~£8k), I own nothing with a value over a few hundred quid (and technically I don't own that; it's PCP). If I was to sell everything I own today, the second most valuable item would probably be my Switch or my MTB (which, at a decade old, isn't likely to be very valuable any more)...

I don't really buy expensive things. I spend my money on travel, and on investments for the future. I don't own a house. I rent, these days by choice. I prefer the flexibility.

15 years ago:
Houses (£950k)
Boat (£300k)
Car (£60k)
Watches (£100k)

Then I had a career-ending car crash, sold anything of value whilst I waited to find out where my life was headed - and eventually met my wife and had three kids.

Now it's:
Fertility Wagon (Motability)
Her engagement ring
The two watches I couldn't move on as they were gifts/heirlooms
Grandfather's medals
The lawn I've just had laid...

Anything else goes into the kids' trust funds or my offshore account.

This.

I admire him (moon_man I think is his name?) far more than whatever trinkets and other garbage people post about buying. Most lists of possessions just look like junk to me.

Would love to do something similar one day. Although I know in my heart I still have the fire and energy to fight for the big jobs and big salaries and chucking it in at 38 to go surf and do little would drive me up the wall very quickly. Part of the issue is that I've not had much time off for many years so my body almost craves the stress and angst :p . Without it I feel …. aimless.

But it theory it sure does sound nice to cash out all my investments, buy a small house cash and work a part time job. Mentally I just can't do it yet.

There's a massive story in this... do tell!
