Im getting nothing but flat spots on my Monsoon PETG 16/12MM bends, I'm 90% sure this is down to the Bitspower 12mm inset that is so loose it just slips out the tube dry!

Has anyone here got some advice on what brand inserts work with the Monsoon 12mm ID PETG?

I think, though I could be mistaken moonson stuff is actually measured in imperial (even though they may say it's 16/12) whatever insert you use should be 'tight' if it's slipping out dry you're bound to get issues. probably best to get monsoons own silicon bending inserts.

For the life of me, I can't find anyone with Monsoon 1/2" inserts.

Any half inch inserts then. Rather than 16/12. If my imperial to metric is correct a half inch is a tad bigger than 12mm which is why a 12mm metric insert is slipping about.

Edit, yup google says a half inch is 12.7mm. Not a lot in it but might explain why your insert slips about.

Pretty sure they sell that insert here - quite a lot of places mislabel is 12mm, I bought it for my EK hardline and it’s a little over 13.

You’ll be fine, needs to fit very tight - if in doubt got larger and sand a little off. If it’s tight on the way in don’t forget it will be tighter to get out a bend so use some olive oil on it and it will work a treat!

Well the "Alphacool Silicon Bending Insert 30cm for ID 1/2" / 13mm" is too big, and the Bitspower is too small

Unfortunately, the only insets they sell on its own here are the Bitspower, the only Monsson one is in a £77 kits of parts I already have or don't need.

Did you try soapy water? I used Alphacool tubing and insert and it was tight enough that it always went in, but got stuck more than once coming out. I prefer this faff removing the insert to flat spots though :)

Yeah, tried soaping it up and can get a couple of cm into the tube but then get stuck. Have a feeling this is going to end in an epic sanding session, but ordered a few more random insets in the hopes I will find one that fits.

try sanding the end of the insert into more of a 'point' - soap it up and start to push it in, if it sticks pull back a tiny bit then continue pushing in. use a pair of pliers to hold and push the insert if you need (if your hands are getting slippery with soap)

I use a twisting motion but after an overzealous triple bend I ended up almost shafted. I got the insert out but it was very chewed up by the edge of the tubing.
