What length LED strip to backlight 50" TV?

Trying to work out what length of USB LED strip I need to backlight Aura a 50" TV. (Going white).

Just get one of those 5m chinese jobbies and cut to length. I've had one running for 1.5 years straight without turning off and it's still fine

I literally just googled how wide is a 50" TV... Would that not have answered your question?

FYI it's 43.6" plus whatever the bezel is round the screen.

Or if you want the backlight to shine more brightly from the sides get 2 vertical strips, 1 on either edge, roughly around 24" each

50" would be the diagonal measurement - use Pythagoras to work out the width (should be about 44" dependent on bezel width).

Well yes because you haven't specified where you want the LED strip, it could be a simple 1cm LED in the middle at the back or the length 3 of the 4 sides (or I suppose 4 sides). In which case a tape measure to PC World will tell you how long the max would be it then comes down to you decide how long that "piece of string" needs to be.
