Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

The imaginary gap?
But AMD are not releasing anything any time soon. 1080Ti is already ahead, not to mention the Titan Xp and V, now the gap will become huge.

If Gibbo is telling the truth and Vega is already selling at a loss for AMD against Nvidia’s 2+ year old tech, what is going to happen in the coming weeks when the new cards come out?

I can somewhat understand people saying AMD have been kind of competitive across their range of graphics cards. But unless Nvidia decides to price the new cards silly, AMD will no longer be competitive either on price or performance. Which is sad, as AMD used to always offer the best price for performance which is why I have had loads of their cards over the years.

It not GT104, it not RT104 rumoured so in fact it use real TU104 chip.

If RTX 2070 use TU106 then I will get RTX 2080 with TU104 chip, seriously hope RTX 2070 will use TU104 chip.

What imaginary gap are you refering. AMD's best competes with Nvidia's mid range cards, where have AMD got something that competes with the Ti and Titan?

The same you are I think. AMD don't have anything priced at the Ti and above and I think anyone is arguing too hard the Vega64 is competitive against the 1080ti. I don't think many people would consider £450 mid range cards.

How is the Vega64 competitive against the 1080Ti? I assume you are talking purely on price (forgetting that a handful of months ago they were dearer than the Ti)

All you have to do is check the 3Dmark scores on page 2 and 3 of this very forum.

2080 Ti  Where did that come from? Wish I could afford one :p Basically double ps5 and next box performance in 2018. Nvidia is not joking around anymore. Only wish they bought a gaming studio to make exclusive game every few years to show of what graphics those beasts of theirs are truly capable off. Surprised they haven't done it yet. By 2020 when ps5 launches it will be an utter joke. Quite sad for multiplatform games really, unless devs push extra graphics for those next gen cards you will be able to play 4K 60fps on mid-low range cards.

I think you might have misread something. The Vega64 is an option against 1080Ti. I'd have a hard time picking between them.

nice clocking card what is the power draw like as it must pump out aload of heat at thous clocks.

Vega 54 at the rebate price was a steal, shame it abit of a sham price

uv 1180mv, whole system hits about 580w.
Can run air clocks with uv system hits about 420w.

I got a 360 & 240 rad though so it's grand.
