I really hope not otherwise I will be keeping the 980 Ti, hell I want to play the new tomb raider at 4k maxed out solid 60fps though which I'm sure the 1180 will do the 980 Ti though won't sadly :(

What do we all think in terms of performance? I think this will be the first card that is a LEGIT twice as a fast as an overclocked 980 Ti (y)

I'm not defending Nvidia here however I don't believe they'd treat us like Intel.

go back to 2015/2016 the GTX 980 Ti was unrivaled once you factored in most cards were pre-overclocked to 1300+mhz and all could do 1400 at least which was a good chunk faster than the competition. however less than a year later the GTX 1080 was released and yes whilst pricey it at least offered a decent performance jump against the Ti excluding the golden chip 980's

fast forward 10 months with no competition in sight from AMD Nvidia brought out the 1080 Ti at a more reasonable ( yet still expensive no doubt ) compared to the 1080 at £700 and blew away the competition.

I think people will be shocked with this card, Nvidia also has consoles to compete with now, I'd be confident in saying a good 25-35% faster than the Ti whilst priced slightly below £650 give or take.

Going to thoroughly enjoy the Resident Evil 2 Remake, hopefully we will get a teaser at least at E3. Also waiting on the new cards before I go for Final Fantasy XV, so fingers crossed the TomsHardware leak for a July release is from a reliable source.

A few sites are claiming June the 15th, I believe it was June in with the 980 Ti was released, such a specific date as well I'd love for it to be true however I'm saving up for a car and my 980 Ti is doing just fine even at 4k

A drop in price on the Nvidia store to shift existing stock plus a leak of a 1180 supposedly going on for preorder available September 28th which would be 4 weeks from the initial rumour of August 28th ( which is about right ) seems very likely this will be releasing in the next 6 - 7 weeks

What are we expecting in terms of performance? I'd be happy with an 30% bump over 1080 Ti less power and heat and noise would be a win.

Me personally I'm still loving my 980 Ti at 1500mhz and 8ghz memory.

When it comes to price performance overclocking potential etc etc, the 980 Ti is the best Ti IMO besting the 780 Ti and the 1080 Ti

Just be prepared for a shock, that's all I am saying. With my 1080. I was getting like 40FPS in RUST with settings everything to LOWEST. Plenty other games were equally demanding. FarCry 5 I had all settings down to lowest to get it playable at 4K and it looked terrible.

I was getting low-mid 40s on my overclocked 980 Ti 1550mhz 8ghz on the memory which about matches a stock 1080 so with an overclock you should have an enjoyable experience. This was all on the highest settings

No one in their right mind should be paying anything more than £150 for R9 290/R9 390/GTX970/RX480/RX580/GTX1060 level of performance now :o

100% agree! r9 290 launched at what £329? something like that and isn't hardly any slower than RX480 and it's 5 years old. GPU's have become a joke, I'm still content with my 980 Ti after selling my 1080 Ti (y)

NVIDIA announces ‘GeForce Gaming Celebration’ on August 20

https://videocardz.com/newz/nvidia-announces-geforce-gaming-celebration-on-august-20

Next generation Geforce launch event is 3 weeks away in 21 days. :D

This is the perfect event to launch a new GPU, I believe it was August the 660 Ti was launched I can't remember any other gpu's that have launched around the August time frame?

There are quite a few new games I'm looking forward to playing I don't think my 980 Ti could keep up with at 4k constant 60 fps hmm might just treat myself as my pay day is 5 days later :D

With all of this being said also what are we expecting in terms of performance?

if we look at the previous X80 non Ti Gpu's and pit them against the previous generation flagship graphics card would look like the below:

GTX 680 was roughly 30-35% faster than GTX 580
GTX 780 was roughly 30-35% faster than GTX 680
GTX 780 Ti was roughly 20-25% faster than GTX 780
GTX 980 was roughly 10-15% faster than GTX 780 Ti
GTX 980 Ti was roughly 25-30% faster than GTX 980
GTX 1080 was roughly 35% faster than GTX 980 Ti
GTX 1080 Ti was roughly 35% faster than GTX 1080

so with the above being mentioned the 1180 *should* be around 30-35% faster than the 1080 Ti therefor making it around 70+% faster than the 1080 which is what the 1080 accomplished against the 980 which also accomplished this against the GTX 680.

Well I've seen some 1080 Tis go for £450-£475 on the bay not a bad price actually!! I've learnt I don't need the best so if I can get a 1080 Ti for £400 when these launch I think I'll bite and hold on till the next Ti comes

Guys think about it.... when the 1080 launched it was 20 months since the 980 had launched which was the longest ever it had then been 10 months later the 1080 Ti launched, it's now been 28 months ( by time these launch) that the 1080 had launched which is close to the time frame for the 1080 and then the Ti launching so it wouldn't surprise me if both cards launched together with the same generational performance I.e 2080 30% faster than 1080 Ti and 2080 Ti being around 70% faster than 1080 Ti...

If a 2080 and 2080 Ti launch at same time and the non Ti is around 25% more performance than the 1080 Ti for £600 I'll bite not spending £800+ on the Ti when the non Ti will still offer a good amount of graphical grunt!

Honestly the 2080 if it's priced at £600-£650 NEEDS to be 25-30% faster than the 1080 Ti for the 2080 Ti to be 55-60% faster and priced at £800-£850 I'm dismissing £1000 for a 2080 Ti can't see it happening.

Look at the 1080 Ti it has zero competition and launched at £719 everyone was saying it would be over £1k etc etc...
