Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

"The placeholder data shows 1000 and 800 USD price tags for RTX 2080 Ti and RTX 2080 respectively. Those prices are without a doubt a placeholder."

Did anyone expect these cards to be a "fair" price???
Nvidia have ZERO competition at the high end. They will charge what they want.
The only way you will get prices it drop is if no one buys them.

But people will buy them. They will buy them while complaining about the price in the same breath.

This is nvidia they don’t care about customers all they want is our $$$$.

Will start saving now for the time new games come out and I see options greyed out because my GPU doesn't support it, will need it in an enclosure.

I have a 1080TI right now and I am very tempted to upgrade to 2080TI but not at £1000.

I really wanted a RTX Titan and originally though they might come in at £1200 like the previous titan xp but when i saw £3000, no way am I paying that for a gfx card. Thats my whole budget for the PC. I got a feeling we are not going to see a Titan XP successor.

If i don't buy a 2080TI at launch, i got a feeling that i might be paying over £1000 for one once the miners start to put their order in a few weeks time.

Between AMD and miners we are getting robed by NVIDIA

Surely that $1000 and $800 prices were placeholders.

No need to all get yer knickers instantly in a twist.

And with the sterling exchange rate bonfire expect worse than a 1:1 conversion to £... Think Gibbo said they need a 1.3 rate to get a 1:1 conversion (including VAT) and we are worse than that currently.
