Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

I wonder how many will pre-order without seeing a single benchmark or review?

I still think 2070 will be £500, 2080 £700 and ti £900. Exchange rate is awful and all that EXPENSIVE GDDR will give them an excuse.

What's the betting we get a load of pointless ray tracing demo's.

Yup, a scene almost entirely static showing the lighting pushing the card to its max. Its a typical feature they're including that won't see use for years, and when it does these cards will be obsolete. But it just gives them the bragging rights to claim its the first raytrace enabled gpu.

When is exchange rate ever good around card launches? The manufacturers and etailers pretty much ALWAYS come up with some bs that lets them ratchet the price to whatever they like. Gpu releases are just profiteering days for sites and stores, always some magical shortage of gpu inventory, always some dodgy exchange rate, always high component prices or shortages, bla bla bla. Same old crap different year, bend over and like it. :(

I think there will be a bigger price difference than that. If a 2080 is 8% better than a 1080ti and a 2080ti is 50% more powerful then a 2080ti must cost at least 35% more than a 2080 probably even more. I think/hope:

2070 £450
2080 £600
2080ti £1000

NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 2070 and 2060 Will Hit The Shelves By End Of October/Early November

https://wccftech.com/nvidias-geforc...the-shelves-by-end-of-october-early-november/

According to my source you are looking at two cards being seeded immediately after the event tomorrow: namely the RTX 2080 Ti and the RTX 2080. The RTX 2070 and (GTX/RTX) 2060 may be announced at the event but their shipments will not begin until the end of October/early November at the earliest.

From WCCFTech, so obviously it's 100% reliable............

It'll proberly be the usual as prices wil be set for the initial allocation of cards and people will complain but still buy them. After the first batch of cards are sold they'll be a massive demand followed by shortages which will increase the price and a number of reasons or excuses will be given why but people will complain and still buy them.

LIke it said above, the launch will be handled with all the poise and dignity of a bunch of chimps on acid in a crap throwing competition with all the excuses being peddled out as to the "wtf" pricing.

Gpu launch days are just depressing now due to this, its the same thing year in year out.

Hardware in search of software to justify its existence. Seriously the only thing I miss on a ps4 is a mouse & keyboard.

If zen 2 can hit top of gaming benches then I shall be doing the same thing.
I am hoping it will. But even if not, I am a 4K gamer, so won’t make a huge difference to me personally. I will have had my 4770K for 6 years by then. Fancy something new and ideally rather give my money to AMD. If it was not for them we would be still on quad core for mainstream from intel.

2070 = 400
2080 = 600
2080ti = 800

my predictions
Give or take around £50 that sounds about right.
