Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Stupid as **** with zero benchies cannot make a decision on whether to spend a grand or not with a retailer due to zero actual solid info

How stupid is this

If these cards were a significant improvement over current do you not think they would have mentioned it? Instead we get meaningless 'benchmarks' comparing a feature the previous gen didn't even possess, does not bode well.

What I found concerning is that in the demos, some of the non-RTX effects looked worse than I have seen elsewhere in other games(the Metro demo was a prime example),almost like there it was
emphasise the RTX effects. OFC,I will reserve final judgment until I see them in an actual game, but something feels familar about all of this.

RIP PC gaming.

It's time to move on to consoles I guess, or maybe even stop gaming tbh.

I have done that for multi plats, XBox One X with Freesync, HDR and 4K is honestly great. Run a BenQ panel and games look and run beautiful. Even without ray tracing !!

Use my PC for VR but I'm sticking with what I have for that.

So i'd of been happy to spend 2080 prices on the 2080ti, not touching any of them until the benches now, and it'll be 2070 performance vs 1080ti, prolly just stick with my 970 tbh, guess I'm 2080 money richer :D

it won't be in traditional games, he was obviously talking about RTX performance considering the chart he showed after saying that.

The 2070 is going to be a fair bit slower than the 1080 Ti. That's acording to the recent leaks (that today were proved correct).

The 2070 is supposed to be ~40% faster than the 1070. The 1080Ti, however, is >55% faster.

So in non-ray-tracing workloads, the 1080 Ti is faster by aboot 11% than the 2070.

if the 2080 has soild performance against the 1080 ti i may look at 2*2080's but at over a 1k for the ti screw you nvidia i'm a pc fan boy but for god sake and as others have said at these kind of prices you've efectivly squeezed out the masses from owning one, effectively killing the market.

we need some benchmarks to find out if the 3 cards announced are faster than their counterparts

Now is a good chance for AMD to capitalise on this price gouging imo bring out a cheap as **** solid car that smashes the 1080ti ....

Why does the 2080 Ti PCB have 12 memory chips?

Could we be looking at an upcoming Titan card?

I'm glad to see the games in development for utilising ray tracing are such essential titles. I noticed We Happy Few on there and personally I can't wait to to be able to look in a shop window and see the perfect reflection of an NPC stuck in a park bench, or see an NPC glide effortlessly across the park without moving their legs and being in a seated position, all by staring at my metal belt buckle.

Go home Nvidia, you're drunk.

Whilst that's true, most people don't care about the underlying technology - they care about the real-world performance they're getting for their money. I have great respect for Vega on a technical level, but it doesn't change the fact that it launched offering less performance than the competition for more money, whilst drawing a lot more power. Cards using HBM are interesting and likely the future, but AMD jumped the gun and saddled themselves with huge costs (and similarly-huge RRPs). They may be proven right on their direction in the long run, but that doesn't help in the here and now where Nvidia are running rampant.
I have strong confident that my Vega64 will age far better than the 1080, similar to how my 290x aged far better than the 780/780ti

Since when does $500 equal £569.

Damn you Nvidia

I can see why Gibbo was saying that Pascal prices weren't going to come down. Hopefully after they have sold all those gpus they have in the warehouse we might see normal nom mining prices.

On that thought I'm guessing there may be quite good for mining hence the price

Il guess at the fact the uk one includes our tax. They can’t really give a price for the US ones with tax as each state is different.
