Anyone going for the RTX 2080 non-Ti?

RTX 2080 price while still high is a much more tempting offering at £750 than the outrageous asking price of the Ti version IMO.

So is anyone planning to sell their current card and get an RTX 2080?

And if so will you choose AIB or Founders edition?

This needs to be 40% minimum faster than the Ti for this to be acceptable. Although still a bitter pill to swallow. Spending £750 and you're only getting 2nd best

Interesting Asus tax again. Probably be similar speed to GTX1080ti. Same price for same speed as 2 years ago. Good progress been made guys!

Im not really that fussed these days with computers seeing as the golden days of overclocking, 3dmarks 01/03/05/06 etc, year on year progress been made, counter strike clan games, computer games pushing limits (HL2, Doom 3, Crysis) seems to have disappeared. But i side graded from an I7 to an I5. I feel i havent upgraded cpu/ram/motherboard in like 8 years. Only upgraded graphics cards and gave up upgrading to the top of the line of them when they started demanding £600+ for barely any improvement. So im really itching for a whole new system but whats the point.

Difficult to get excited any more with pcs with ridicules prices, shoddy console ports and perhaps im just simply getting too old. I miss uni :(

I am tempted. Main issue is:

1. Drop in memory
2. Whether its better than the 1080ti

1080tis will start becoming more decent value wise so it becomes a case of how much, if any, performance gain over the 1080ti. I'm sure overtime the 2080 will be the safer bet with future games.

I'm still not prepared to put any money on it until benchmarks come out though... although the more I think about it, the more tempted I am.

What about people who currently own a 1080?

When you could get a 1080 Ti from £719 18 months ago why wait for so long to pay and extra £130 ish for the same performance? Also 2nd hand cards can be had for less than £500 now which is why the non Ti needs to wipe the floor with the older Ti

For better or worse I had to pre-order a 2080 this evening as I prematurely sold my 1080ti. This was likely a big boob on my behalf but I’ve done it now so I’m going to move on :)

was genuinely looking at getting a 2080 as I thought it would be a similar if maybe a little higher than a 1080 at launch, but at those prices, not a chance.
