Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

I guess I'll wait to see what the benchmarks are like before making a final decision, but this might be the final nail in the coffin for PC gaming for me personally. Graphics card inflation is simply insane.

. I sold 2 1080 Tis for £900. Ended up spending £1370.

£450 for a 1080ti. That is a very fair 2nd hand price and is what i have offered a few people on another classifieds site.... sadly i got turned down. I dont want to buy new from NV because frankly i do not want to support them at all whilst they charge this much (people buying new 10x series cards could well be paying right into their hands and be exactly why they are doign this to clear old stock) but at the same time i am not paying 70% of new price for a 2nd hand card with limited history/warranty.

Pretty sure we'll see some 'influencers' coming out with the positive spin very soon! Nvidia won't like the generally negative tone that is building up regarding Turing.

He keeps going on about the risk - it is ZERO risk for anyone in the EU because we have Distance Selling Regulations - so we can legally return the card if it does not perform as expected within 14 days of receiving it.

Perform as expected? we have no performance figures lol

Yup. Going to get a PS5 and keep my 1080 until it dies. Having a PC just for browsing and game on console from now on. Nvidia can suck it.

Eh, not sad i got rid of my 1080Ti as i didn't make much use of its power anyway. At least i got most of my money back for it when i sold it some months ago, if i cant get a 2080Ti for around £700-£800 I'll probably just hold onto my 980Ti until the 7nm cards, it's doing me fine at 1440p.. Hardware unboxed are only expecting a 10-15% uplift, very disappointing for the cost of these cards. I usually like buying new high end stuff but if this is true i will skip them.

Jayztwocents made a video where he used the phrase "doesn't seem like nvidia disappointed".

He is such a shill for nvidia. He does my head in. Big man baby with the body of an 80 year old fat woman.

Just order 2x RTX 2080Ti FE and yeah it stung a lot - total cost 27998 SEK which is 3 065,48 USD (but free delivery - yay!). over 5k of that is VAT but even then that is a substantial premium -over- the USD price and they don't arrive until October...

Congrats and enjoy your cards.

To put things in prospective the cards are about the same price as a Titan Xp but the 2080 Ti performance will be noticeably better.:)

I have pre-ordered one from OCK I have been putting money aside for a while now and after this will be getting a 4k hdr monitor once one comes out that isn't two grand :)
You literally haven't seen any benchmarks? Why would you order now? Especially as nvidia refused to show performance in their keynote. Madness.

Hah! I just watched and saw that, and switched off straight away afterwards in disgust, thinking to myself that he is a massive shill (I'm not exaggerating, it is literally what happened).
