Geforce GTX1180/2080 Speculation thread

Wouldn't surprise me considering Nvidia spent 2 hours saying nothing about the RTX range against the previous series with the exception of raytracing, No benchmarks at all not even the old this card is 20% faster than the previous series that they used to state.

I feel the 1080TI will end up been a bargain like the 980Ti. I might consider building a PC next year for 700 quid I reckon would get a good setup considering now you can get a full system with a quad core overclocked and a GTX1070 for 600 to 700 second hand.
Well people that picked up 1080Tis when they went on sale are LAUGHING arent they ??. Cant remember start price but got feeling its cheaper or same as it is today :D

The very fact that nvidia didn't even say they were faster is massively red flagged.
I wouldn't be surprised if they were no faster than 1000 series. BUT THEY GOT GIGARAYS

Which is how they are trying to cripple the older generation cards as well as AMD.

Truth be told just turn it off in the settings and have fun gamin until the prices come down to sane levels.

The heat and most probable power consumption on these cards will be a problem for me I think. I have an old PSU from 2012 and a case that might be large but doesn't have many fans.

I thought I heard him say the 2070 is faster than the 1080ti and just "from" $499.

Although he did say at the beginning all the leaks are wrong, which turned out to be nonsense.

Power consumption should not be an problem for You if not buying Vega 64 :D

To be honest..... this is how Apple has done well. Built a cult following of people who buy your stuff no matter how overpriced....

I saw a documentary about it. They put people in an MRI scanner and basically the same area of the brain that lights up when religious icons are shown to religious people light up when Apple fanboys were shown Apple products.

Apple: has plenty of competition and is arguably don't have the better product in most markets. still charges more due to the cult you talk about

Nvidia:On its own in the consumer and prosumer markets, so they can charge what they like with little that could challenge them this side of 2020 and so can charge insane amounts (which I will not pay(

Quite different cases

Sure nvidia have there cults but sure does AMD if you seen some of the posts in this thread

Isn’t the lack of benchmarks worrying? What happens if these new GPU’s don’t perform any better than the 10XX series, and all it actaully does is give you ray tracing in supported games?

As far as I have read and watched NVIDIA haven’t talked about any performance gains over 10XX at all, and people are handing over £1000...

Yes quite worrying.... also the fact they didn't say anything about performance vs 10 series outside of ray-tracing specific situations....

That's what we are all debating. It's the million dollar question right now, how well do the 20 series perform vs 10 series in traditional applications. Since you are paying 1200 for a gpu one has to expect pretty good right?

Well. I'm out for now. Same old same old. Saw the exact same complaints on the last gen about price and they still sold out. I mean this time prices are nuclear. And with no benchmarks!

Saw the exact same E-peen people saying "just pre-ordered 2 of them!"

Annoys me no end because it keeps prices silly and tells nvidia we will pay anything they want.

But. It's a free market. People can buy what they want.
