Upgrade from AMD 260X - advice needed

Even a £100 GTX1050 is a big upgrade on a 260X.

Not really - 1050 performs similarly to a 270, so a step up but not much

Performance hasn't trickled down very much due to GPU stagnation (due to lack of competition)

Todays entry level cards (1050/RX560) aren't much better than midrange cards from 5 years ago (7870/270/gtx660 etc)

I'm hoping it will be a noticeable upgrade, especially when I choose a new monitor.

I was looking to change my motorcycle, encouraged by the other half as, in her words, "there's no point working rubbish shifts if you don't spend some of what you earn on yourself". I was disgusted at the prices being asked for bikes older than mine, so decided a new GPU for my gaming was a better way to spend the money.

It will be a ridiculously huge difference. Night and day. Good card should last you a while.
