Cost of fitting fire doors

Anyone had a fire door fitted recently? Had a quote for £280 for install only. Another 170 odd for the door itself. Reasonable? Seems a lot to me but im no expert.

Are these internal or external fire doors and what are you fitting them in?

If you already have an opening and you're just getting someone to swap out one fire door to another then yes it sounds expensive! If you need an opening cut in a wall and framed etc then its not expensive.

as above if fitting in an existing doorway then I would look elsewhere

Yeah its an existing door being swapped out for the new fire door. In the kitchen. Ill have to get another quote then. Cheers guys

Door itself will be about 80 quid from memory when we had them fitted. Its the fitting that will set you back a good few notes.

That honestly sounds really expensive. They've loaded on overheads because it's a small job.
