Bought a sabertooth 990fx Dec 2015. In warranty still, decided to go pop last night.

Unfortunately bought from somewhere else as OCUK didn't have stock.

The website will not take the serial number, I have tried all the stickers and numbers on the board itself. It doesn't fire up so I cant get the SN from the BIOS and the box is gone somewhere.

When you call the contact number it says "For motherboard RMA use the site, thanks and goodbye"

Great!

Go on site.

"Invalid serial"

Worst CS ever, as you can't live chat, you cannot get any assistance from them and the retailer I bought it from (used to be good until a certain telecom company purchased them) states :

2. The goods became faulty during use

Please make arrangements to return your item directly to the manufacturer. You’ll find information to help you do this in the warranty documentation that was supplied with your item, or on the relevant manufacturer’s website

I am now stuck with a dead motherboard and no way to RMA it. I will never buy another ASUS board in my life now, this is the 2nd one to go in 2 years and this is the worst CS experience I have ever had. EVGA notify, send them the card and boom a return a week later.

Are there any ASUS reps or someone here that can tell me if I am using the wrong serial - the one on the PCIE under the model name/number? I mean I've tried all the stickers on there, I have no box so can't check that, but this seems like a totally farcical procedure to me.

Oh wow....

Update - when you put the serial in the email form, it appears as a mobile device, not motherboard....

For such a large company (possibly the largest in the enthusiast computing market?) you'd think they'd want to set the example for customer service, but I don't think they've ever even attempted to improve.

there website hasnt worked correctly for over a year. really lazy .

try downloading drivers from there.if you need important drivers or bios updates you in trouble. many people love their products yet they so lazy customer care side makes no sense in such a big company business to be like this.

go try now. its been broken for over a year for most people. most browsers dont work with the site apart from opera.they have been told this for ages.still doesnt work.

for eg try this download here

https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/X99A/HelpDesk_Download/
I get a 'server not found' error for all the download links there. Though it apparently doesn't affect everything, as I downloaded a BIOS update for my Crosshair VI a few weeks ago without any problems.

the problem with the download page appears to be browser specific. (It doesn't work with chrome but works with FF)

I'm also very disappointed in Asus support for the CH6.
It's worrying the number of problems that people are having with their fans and pumps with bios 6201 released in May and very annoying that the AI Suite (which is really good when it works) now appears to be incompatible with the newer bios's and won't even install.

The fact that ASUS have removed the CH6 bios update thread from the sticky list would suggest that they've given up on this board...

it doesnt work by default with any browser but opera. asus even know about it as its been on their forums hundreds of times for the period mentioned.the fact they havent fixed it yet shows no real care of its customers. just google the issue some posts go back 5 years.
