Ryzen 2700x and 3600mhz ram, seems to work perfectly, is there any issue running this speed?

I got the Team Group Dark Pro "8 Pack Edition" 3600mhz ram, i installed it in my Aurus 7 gaming with my 2700x and set the XMP profile and it works perfectly, now i didnt think anything of it until i watched a youtube video about ryzen and they said the max supported speed is 3200mhz and after looking on the forums there seems to be very few people able to run 3600mhz, is there a reason NOT to run at this speed? Should i back it off? I dont want to reduce my components life span or put stress on the system for no reason!

You will not reduce the components life span by running at those speeds. The reason many cannot run at those speeds is because each chips memory controller has different abilities hence different ram speeds you see, also some motherboards and BIOS factor in also and different timing and ram modules hence your observation.

If it works at that speed thats great, wont reduce lifespan. Most people dont get those speeds due to IMC and/or difficulty configuring it. However speed isnt the be all and end all, depends on the timings too.

Seem to recall your other thread, did you HCI test/Ramtest the memory?

No because my motherboard is still getting RMA'd and im now back to my old X58 system, i need to wait for them to get the board sent back before i get to test everything, its getting infuriating, everytime i build a new pc the motherboard has an issue!

it's bad luck, wish you luck for the next board. :D
About the speed, the ram can run at that speed, hell even more no problem as long as the voltage to the RAM is within safe range (less tha n 1.5v)and temperature doesn't get too out of hand. The only thing that would reduce your CPU life span is the SOC voltage to the IMC, if I'm not mistaken when you enable XMP, the board will increase SOC automatically and it can get quiet high.

Out of interest why is your motherboard being RMA'd?
It worked perfectly for 2-3 days and then it started just turning itself on and doing this never ending power cycle until i reset the bios, then about a day later the audio stopped working, just turned into hissing and then it would just refuse to accept any USB devices. No idea what was going on as it was perfect at the start!

EDIT: Also the NIC seemed to be going crazy, sometimes i could get websites to load and others i had to refresh exactly twice after going to any website, made ZERO sense!

If it passes memory speed tests at this speed go for it. Sisoft sandra is what I use for testing. I've got an X370 crosshair and with 4 sticks the most I can push is 3400.
