Hi,

My girlfriend is looking to buy a PC. She is into really cute Hello Kitty or vibrant PC frames but I explained to her that that shouldn't her priority when she building a PC for a budget of £500 lol. I really need some help so I can get the best out of my money. I'm not good with getting the right things that'll make a complete PC myself. The game she and I play is World of Warcraft. I know its possible to get a PC that can run that game above smoothly at this price. She only cares about that game but ofc I want the PC to be versatile enough to play other games similar to that. Nothing too over the top like Far Cry 5 but a PC that will last and stay strong. Please help!!!! If Overlocker have any solid builds already set up please show me which is best because I don't want to get something that isn't what I think it is because it isn't my money.

Thanks a million! Please help!

DIY or prebuilt?
do you need windows/monitor/peripherals?

for that budget, probably a preowned pc would be the best bang-for-buck
(but ofc, no/minimal warranty)

At this budget I'd be tempted to look at a 2nd hand dell or similar, with an i5 and stick a 1050ti in it. Would likely get better bang for your buck :)

Can anyone link any prebuilt PC that are good for the price. I tried to build one PC Specialist but I'm not sure if I'm doing it right. There's and AMD and Intel version.

no windows included and no screen etc, but these can be found elsewhere for cheap.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £484.55 (includes shipping: £11.70)

i dont understand gta 5 graphic settings, but my system places that on low i guess smoothly and well at 1366x768 and what i put above is miles better and while i havent played WoW in years, i cant see it being more demanding of a game.

its just an idea, if you wanting a package with screen etc then you are better off used and can get some pretty decent setups.

Well thanks so far but I'm mainly going for prebuilt PCs. So far we looked and she liked these two. Could they both run it fine or would we need to adjust the CPU or GPU higher up. I think the highest we could go to is 600 but 500 would definitely be best. She prefers things that are compact. Can these options handle WoW?

Get OCUK to build , £50 on top I believe , not to activate windows licence and buy yours for £15 odd

@ExoMale

CPU would struggle , specially in raids -
Ryzen 2400g does fall nicely as has the 4 cores/8 threads and more powerful then GT1030

is WoW really that bad now? i still remember silky smooth gaming on max settings with a turbo'd dual core i5 lol in a laptop, i cant bring myself to start wasting my life again on it to see how the new stuff does.

admit-tingly most of that spec is what i had in the basket anyways, but being a quad it should be fine and as we know they can be overclocked, also as pointed out to me for my own APU Ryzen talks, unless you not going to upgrade gpu then getting an APU be pointless... what i did forget about was the 1400 are just over £100, so that be better extra spent.

Looks quite saucey. Is it a versatile setup? Also will it be really difficult to set up myself - like will everything fit. Also if there's anything better to make £500 it'll be better. Any pieces that can be improved to make it better since it only amounts to 450 or so? Also does anyone know what cases I can get there are more vibrant haha - i'm not sure just in case the piece wont fit into it.

I did it to limit with maybe having it built , or windows on top, ryzen 1400 and gtx 1050 would make it better

You can save yourself money by downloading windows 10 onto a boot able USB and activating it whenever you have the money there is no time limit the only limitation is that you can't change the desktop theme but it's fully functional.
