Recovering photos from HTC Phone ( Touch screen not working)

So my dad's phone, touch screen cable is torn and not working, but turns on and there is life.
But I've tried various programs to try to disable the lock screen and try to get into the phone folders, but no luck.
Is there any other way to access the phone folders without the touch screen, the settings in the phone to change the output cant be reached either..so im out of options

I would try a USB OTG cable and a mouse to see if that works, assuming it's just the touch that isn't working and the screen is displaying something.

I would have done that, but rather off just ordered new screen and frame on Ali for 16, lol
