*** The Official Battlefield 5 thread***

Ah FFS.

Couldn't they just bring it forward...

With a bit of luck the open beta is made longer to make up for the delay. Bit of a farce this late in the game to change the release by a month, but EA is obviously afraid of another titanfall 2 situation where they released a good game and it got totally lost in the mix of bf1 and cod.

No doubt we'll have the Shills "EA Game Changers" making vids trying to backup EA's reasons for the delay.

Without reading the thread..

What will it run like on..

6700K
16GB
GTX1070
1440P

Worth ordering NOW for extra stuff? Loved BF1 and still play it.

I suppose this means that EA will get at least 2 months of origin premier subs from people who just wanted to try the game rather than one ;)

Low for pro you'll get 80+ fps Ultra maybe 50? I frame cap @ 135 with 1070 SLI low for pro, get ~95 Ultra.

So..
Origin access 9th Nov
Deluxe pre-order 16th Nov
Standard 20th Nov

Oh and Origin access basic only get 10 hours of play between the 9th and the 20th, while origin access premier get unlimited.

In completely unrelated news, some analyst was saying that bfV pre-orders are down 85% on bf1. Whowuddathunkit.

It's not that I don't want a colourful game, I just tend to leave my DV cranked up for games with a more washout out colour palette like Squad, CSGO etc.

I'm not going to play it in grayscale lol.

I thought here we go he's off to get his grandads black and white telly lol.

Hope it’s better than that retail. I get 80s ultra (bar lighting on high) on 1440p on my 980ti in bf1 to drop to 50s is gonna hurt. I’ll just have to turn the settings down I guess.

This is the danger with adding token characters to try and grab the sweet sweet diversity cash, if you're super lazy about it like EA and do a bad job you can end up offending the very people you're hoping to attract, nevermind annoying off the existing players (which may well include a lot of the ones the tokens are aimed at in the first place lol).

While I'm sure there are people who are boycotting bfV over customisation and gender diversity, the point I was trying to make is that there is absolutely no good reason to pre-order the game when you get more benefits by subscribing to origin premier which does not count as a pre-order. EA has stolen all of DICE's pre-order customers and is now beating on them for not having any pre-order customers.

I'm sure EA aren't stupid enough to not factor that into their acountings though, they are after all only ever interested in the numbers so they should be quite proficient at it

OK I should rephrase that: EA have stolen all of DICE's BFV pre-order customers, and now analysts and shareholders seem to be blaming DICE, claiming the lack of pre-orders is due to the diversity debacle and competing titles.

I think the more telling thing is that EA hasn't spoken out to assure analysts/shareholders that all is well ;)

Their silence on the matter is interesting
