Best GTX 2080 card to buy?

FE all the way.

AIB - cheap plastic shroud, unstable quality (EVGA 1080 were literally ****)

NVIDIA - premium metal shroud, always without design flaws.

The new FE design looks amazing and super high quality.

The one that does best once reviews come out. I would have said EVGA at one time but something seems to have gone wrong with them. They used to be bulletproof. My 1070 is MSI and I've been really impressed with their build quality and cooling.

Pre-Order while stocks are still available, they'll be none on release day to buy. Nvidia seem skittish about the product, not about the price though, stops retailers from inflating prices like they have with the 10s. At least if the card turns out not to be a Turkey, then we can just buy a 2080ti.

One thing I've just noticed. The FE comes with two fans whilst a lot if the AIB cards are Tri.

May or may not make a difference to cooling.

Of course the FE comes with a vapour chamber. Right?

What would be the best card to buy if you're going to take the cooler off to add a waterblock? If all PCBs will be the same, could I just buy the cheapest blower style card and use the FE waterblock?

I sort of think that FE card will be awesome at cooling, but I cannot tell really and that is making me quite indecisive. The fans look premium with more blades and a closed design. The vapor chamber concept might prove to be extremely good vs heat-pipes.

And it always amazes me when I look around and see how many people have an high end mobile phone
even people with no job or have very little money have an high end mobile phone..

Its ironic the phone as a status thing anymore. The Iphone is so common its irrelevant now. Any chump can have it. Your not special cause you own one or super wealthy. You may as well keep your old one and not upgrade or get a cheaper phone.

I work for a subprime company on secured loans and its amazing how many people struggling to pay £150-300 a month but when you get an email excuse from them its 50% of the time "Sent via Iphone/Ipad". They would rather pay £70+ per month to have their latest and greatest phone than a roof over their head.

There was a bit on the news recently about London nurses having to use food banks in order to feed their families, yet there was plenty of nice shiny new Iphones to be seen. Priorities are very broken in some cases.

Hey, is the founders edition a solid bet of a GTX 2080 to get or would I bet better off buying a third party one?

Third party, While the new Founders edition looks to be a step up from the Blower cards the design is too closed off to let it compete with a good non reference cooler, Third party developers are coming to the point where they recognise that the more open the design the better as it improves how much airflow can be pushed through the heatsink, As for this new Founders edition... just look at it, It's all enclosed with only small open areas for air to flow through & out.

About 2 years ago I had my one my old mates ask me if I could lend a him a few hundred quid as he had a payday loan payment to pay in a few days time and he had no money to pay it..
I noticed he had the latest top end sony mobile phone so asked him when he bought it and he told me about a week ago :rolleyes:

For me I like the look of the FE cards. So if I was buying blind without any info (as of right now) I'd probably buy the FE.

Seems the FE card have a slight edge over the retail cards from an increased power range. The loss of the titan cooler is a downside especially for the price.
