Is Logitech now a children's/hipster brand as opposed to a professional's brand?

So I bought a cheap Logitech mouse the other day, the M590 to replace an old M505. Mouse is OK for the price but what has happened to the software it is remarkably dumbed down and I am finding this dumbing down of the world quite annoying.

It doesn't work with the old SetPoint software at all, and the new bloated now takes up THREE separate processes utilising 60% more resources, yet functionality has been reduced by 80%.

They've even removed many options including the option for mouse acceleration, yet the new software is called Logitech OPTIONS. hahahaha

LOL are they trying to take the ****? I am convinced they are trolling.

I mean why else would you remove half of the options including battery status and acceleration options and then call your software "options". That is just blatant trollage.

Don't have any of those issues with their professional/gaming mice.

Sounds like if you go for the budget end, you just get the basic software.

Why would you need the software installed for a £25 mouse  surely it's a plug and play device that doesn't require setting up.
