Yeah, I rationalised it as I only upgrade NAS every half decade or more, plus replacing the 8TB drives in my DS214se with a pair of 12TB drives would have cost more than the DS1517+. Which has an extra three bays so I can move over the 8TB drives and add three 4TB ones I have spare, so I can 20TB of space instead of 12TB, a much better unit, and save money! (kind of
).
