Bannister and spindles replacement costs?

Finally got round to getting this sorted, I’m removing all spindles (about 50 or so) and the bottom rail, I’m leaving the hand rail and the Newell posts and sanding them

Cost is approx £400 for materials and was originally £600 for the Labour although the joiner said he would requote to reflect the reduction in work

Sounds about right given traders tend to charge 2-3x the real world cost lately, 1K to get it brand new and put up imo isn't too bad but it almost feels with some DIY it maybe possible to do yourself.

I could probably do the whole lot of mine tbh, it’s not complicated but the joiner will take 2 days whereas I would take a few weeks due to the lack of spare time and scratching my head a fair bit having never done this type of work before, I’d also need to buy some tools such as a mitre saw and spend time sourcing matching replacements

On that note even I would hire someone ! thought it would just be good old saw and hammer at worse case.
