M.2 to bigger M.2

Whats the best way of fitting a larger M.2 drive to a laptop and keeping everything.
Can i clone to an external drive then back again, can you get external M.2 enclosures so i can clone it and fit straight away?

Macrium Reflect - Free Edition.

Clone original drive to external.

Swap M.2's over.

Clone to new M.2.

Easy as pie.

How do you run the program once you remove the original drive?
