Hi all,

I've had my 2011 1.8 Diesel mondeo for a few month now and it has just given me a steering malfunction error on the dash screen. The steering lock isn't applying and the screen is staying on, showing the error and the total milage when the car is off and locked.

I got this car from my father who tells me it has intermittently shown the steering error since he got it some years ago but it apparently always goes again within a day. He can't verify if the lock and screen sysptoms happened as well or not, he never thought to notice.

Any ideas what could be up or how to get the screen to turn off?

Thanks all

Ask your dad for a refund.
100%, reckon he sold me a dodgy motor :-)

I just check the car and the screen is still on, having been locked and left alone for a good 90 mins or more. Just hoping the battery holds up and can start tomorrow.

Seems like the screen stays on because its showing the steering malfunction error rather than its actually faulty but cant see a way to clear the error codes. The two DTC codes being displayed in the test menu are c41668 and c15100. Dont know if either were there prior top the steering warning appearing.

C41668 = U0416-68

C15100 - lost comms with the restraints control module

That's all I could find on those codes
