Leasing your graphics card

No but you pay less each month as your Nvidia GPU looses performance to "less optimised" drivers.:D

Nope, same price each month as you have to pay for the "free" fire extinguisher that comes bundled with the card, just in case the driver sets it alight.:D

Donttttt ... Can just see NV pricing normal people out of the market only to start a rent to buy scheme . increased revenue over time albeit in smaller chunks . can just see Jenson sending the heavies round the day after someone s direct debit bounces

If your 2080ti is £1,200 normally, I could see people paying £30 to £40 a month for games access and a GPU. This is £1,400 to £1,920 over 2 years.

Would you go for it? How much would be prepared to spend a month for a GPU and access to the main AAA games?
Where you getting that £1,400 & £1,920

Am I missing something here
24 months of £30 = £720
24 months of £40 = £960

Why would they give you a £1200 GPU and game access for £720 or £960 ?

There's a good chance that the hardware in future will come "free" as you will have no choice but to pay a subscription for the software/online/whatever.

"Everything as a service." It's the future. Sadly.

Yeah I hope I haven't given Nvidia any ideas. It's not something I'd be interested in doing but I can see it being popular with parents who don't care about gaming and would prefer a monthly payment instead of a big outlay for a PC (as people are into paying monthly for everything these days). Instead of it just being "games as a service" it will be "hardware as a service". Microtransactions for every 10MHz you want to overclock!

Oh god no I've said too much now...

Yeah I did four years instead of two. Sums is difikult. I suppose you'd be looking at about £60 a month for £1400.

(interesting comparison - my 390x has done 3 years of service and is now dead. I got it for £250. It has cost me £7 a month to game)

£58.33 a month over 2 years with nothing added. I personally would like to own my card from the off. I have done credit or paid on a CC before but much prefer to save and buy, as nothing worse than paying for the goods once you have used them for a while.

Just buy one on hp from Littlewoods, that is if you want to burn your wallet and pay over double the price.
