Has anyone had any experience of quotes from Anglian Windows ?

We have a 12m square Victorian style conservatory that has an old polycarbonate roof ,cold on the winter and to hot in the summer that either needs thermal insulation and cladding from the inside or a complete new roof .

I’ve had a quote from Anglian for a complete new roof in an Orangery style that will look stunning but the quote is 11K , loads of discounts already applied . I am thinking of this but in your experience is there room for bartering with window companies or is that likely to be the price ?

I don’t want a White Gold moment with Tony but I need to know I’m getting value for Money .

We had two doors replaced by Anglian. I played hardball and the quotes came back more reasonable, I refused 3 quotes and he had 2 calls with "head office" before It got even remotely sensible.

Disregard any "discounts" if they mention it already being heavily discounted, they're BS.

Whilst I agree with this in principle. The added time, pain and planning consent on this will deter most people unless they really need the space.

Local planning and building location dependent but should be covered under permitted development, whilst a proper extension will cost more, it has the upside of adding additional value to the house (normally).

^^ she does indeed!

Thanks guys , we’ve decided to have this done at £3500 as I can’t see the point in shelling out 10k since we only plan to stay 5 years .

I just had a look at the video on their website and it looks like all they've done is batten out the existing roof supports, stapled some Tri-Iso 10 or equivalent "space age" insulation across that, battened again to maintain any airgap then stuck up some terrible poly-carbonate board on the inside. If you're any good at DIY, I suspect you could probably do that yourself and save about a grand or so on your quote!

They say it’s UPVC cladding

I’m rubbish at diy I’d be saving nothing.
