The video speaks for itself really...

Link to the India Today article
At the beginning of the video, the boy, dressed in a red T-shirt, can be seen bending down to tie his shoelaces. The boy seems oblivious to what is happening behind him where a woman is just about to get her car out of its parked state.

Then, the car accelerates rapidly and hits the boy, dragging him along for a couple of seconds before running over him.

Miraculously, the boy emerges from under the vehicle seemingly unhurt. The video ends with the boy running away from the parking area towards his friends.

I can't believe they didn't notice?! I know the roads there are bad so you expect bumps, but seriously?! Poor kid

The kid must have been in a blind spot and unless they followed the kid would probably not have noticed that the kid bent down.

I’d also guess that as the kid effectively went under the front and under the middle of the car she probably felt little to nothing.

Pretty stupid place to tie your laces though?

I went under a Transit in similar fashion when I was a kid. Totally my fault. Van ran over my bike and buckled the frame in half, I crawled out from underneath it with a grazed elbow.

Blatantly the kid is in a blind spot, right the way around the car. I thought perhaps he might just be visible when the driver had backed up a touch, but I guess not.
Unless the driver had noticed that one kid duck down, and made every effort to follow the kid, I can't see how this would be her fault. All the other kids had moved off, so it's reasonable to assume this one had gone with them.

As is, none of the kid's mates noticed either, and didn't seem to care when he went running off (in tears?) afterward, either. They just carried on with their game!!

No one here, including the driver, noticing her passenger door was swinging wide open too.

Lol never noticed that before.

Looking back at the vid she does eye the kids, you can then sort make out her glancing over when she sees some of the kids walking away.

Years ago my then Manager never saw a light pole in a car park, was in his blind spot and ran into it at quite a speed, enough to uproot it, it the toppled exactly in the middle length ways and the forward momentum meant it the somersaulted over the roof and landed on his boot. His Prelude was properly KO’ed. We had a good laugh in the office.

Then on the way back from getting an insurance estimate he ran into the back of somebody :D

To be fair I caught the kids in the street playing football once and saw the ball bounce off my car... similar idea may have crossed my mind ;) :p

She probably assumed they'd all gone when they walked away and couldn't see the kid she hit. Honestly, that seems scarily easy to do to me. I don't know how you don't notice though. Mind you, given how unbothered he seems I guess she didn't hit him hard.

And China too while we're at it. It's preferably to kill the other person in an RTA financially.
I think they actually reverse over them a few times just to make sure. The fine is cheaper than having to pay care for ever or something...

Stupidity? How would the driver have avoided what happened? The only way would have been to come back out and recheck?

Well the driver knew there were kids playing immediately next to the car. They then clearly would have known they hit something, hit a big bug and it makes a thump, never mind a 10 year old! They also don't exactly pull put of the space slowly.
They then also drive off with their door open.

On top of that I'm not entirely convinced that they wouldn't have at least seen the shadow cast by the kid in the headlights, if they couldn't see the kid...which I suspect he may have been visible.
