Pret allergy death

Tragic for the family.

Not sure if I had an allergy that could result in my death i'd trust anything from anywhere and make my own.

Our friends always take their kids food with them as they've been in hospital several times even when taking as many precautions as possible.

Its an awful story, and when you hear the last moments of the girl crying for help to her father because she couldn't breath, it tears me up.

Human element and emotion parked for one second, I do put blame at the feet of the father and unfortunately the girl as well. As others have mentioned if she had such a severe reaction you would check, double check and triple check stuff like this, surely?

One element that did shock me the most was the response from a BA crew member putting forward her reason for not going to get the defibrillator from the back of the aircraft.

I understand the logic.....but still......WTF?

You do understand what defibrillators are for right? They wouldn't help in this situation.

I am no doctor but I am understand the basics.

I wonder if the BA crew made the decision not to get it on the basis that it wouldn't work? Doubtful. That's my issue.

The lack of effort in getting it was also raised as a concern by the coroner. So I don't think it's as cut and dry as you make out.

... and when you hear the last moments of the girl
Did they disclose who took these videos and whether they were publically released with the parents permission ?
like other trajic events seems ghoulish/inappropriate (couldn't they help) for folks with mobiles to record such initmate events and then put into public domain.

Such behaviour is now accepted, the recording of anything out of the ordinary , however tasteless, is it's here to stay.

My earnest entreaties to my MP to introduce a PMB that you can lawfully punch a mobile phone ghoul has fell on deaf ears mainly because
she is a spineless leftie bed wetter.

What's also interesting, is that allergies in children are on the rise in western developed countries only - not in third world or developed countries, according to available data.

Because there isnt the same mindset in third and undeveloped countries to mass produce food.

The ice cream I was mentioning was ben and jerry's. There was (maybe still is I haven't kept my eye on it) a weed killer in the ingredients. When this came to light all they said was something like, "well, its below the allowed amount". They never address why they have it in there in the first place.

You won't see many reports about chemicals in foods because the food industry is massive. It's no coincidence when chemicals started to be either put in foods, or sprayed over crops, was when western people started to become more ill.

Just stop, your embarrassing yourself. You can tell someone has no idea what they are on about when they say there are 'chemicals' in food. Yeah I'm not surprised, there are atoms in them too.

So lets see if you can answer the question that I was replying to and say why all these immune problems are only happening in the West? What is your theory about it?

I'd also like to hear your answer as to why Ben and Jerry's ice cream has/had weed killer in?

Here is a link about the Ben and Jerry's story I'm on about;

Weedkiller found in Ben and Jerry's ice cream

What the heck? You don't understand basic chemistry do you? Different chemicals produce different effects. Effects can even be neurological.

What a poor argument. Just because food has atoms in them you assume that the chemicals are just completely inert and produce no effect?

If you are allergic to a common food *thing* don't eat something that commonly contains that "thing*.

Read the label, if no label don't eat, don't ask a employee cos people are stupid, even if the label says OK... Find someone else with the same allergy and force feed them some..

Its not WTF. The safety of the airplane is more important. That crew member would actually have probably been fired if they got up because they are putting the airplane in danger.
Sorry but how is being in position to cover the exit doors which will only be of any importance in the one in a million flights which requires the use of them more important than doing something which could actually have been of assistance to someone dying on the plane?

The fact the defibrillator would not have helped in this instance isn't relevant given that the staff would not have known this.

Putting people at risk to fetch something probably irrelevant wouldn't be a good idea. Defibrillators are frequently misrepresented as a technomagic device for all heart problems and they're not.

Which videos are we talking about? I'm only aware of the one that has been posted on news sites.
