Sending a laptop battery through the post

Does anyone know which couriers will accept a lithium ion battery? Royal mail will only take it if it's inside the device but not a bare battery.

Just do what everyone else does any don't tell them.

What does "inside the device" mean? Is a battery inside a device if I connect it to a led and put it in a box?

I've always sent items with batteries using royal mail, as above just don't tell them, though I guess if anything ever did go wrong it could raise an issue, I take the risk.

Yes, they are often used for crown control in the US, some have a solid ball, others have pepper spray inside them instead of paint.
