you win the euro millions tonight: your shopping list.

Firstly I would buy a house on the outskirts of Sheffield with the Peak District on my doorstep. I would then sort out a nice house for my mum and dad as they currently rent and same with my brother, his wife and kid. Go away for a nice long holiday, 3/4 weeks hunting for a holiday home in Spain. I would then look into investing some of the winnings and also look into property development as I'll have quit my Civil Service job as soon as I've used up all my annual leave. I'm not really into flash cars but would get something which is nice as the Mondeo won't cut it anymore. I'd also treat myself, brother and dad to a season ticket at Bramall Lane too.

Apparently some lucky sod in Switzerland did win the jackpot, well, at least the winning ticket was sold there. Maybe not such a bad place to possible live if winning all those money.

It's a terrifying amount tbh. What about the scumbags who would stop at nothing to get their greasy paws on some of the cash?

Close family members could be taken and held to ransom. I don't think it's possible but maybe it would be best to somehow keep quiet?

I for sure would keep it quiet, and most likely would moved away from where I live anyway to somewhere where I could live in more anonymity

HOLY POOP I WON................£4.50.........................I don't know what to buy first - a desert island, private plane or a super car! :D

Ok so it's been won but to carry on the discussion I would have no issue with friends or family. For one, I literally have no family (apart from my wife and two children) and zero real/proper friends. I have some work friends which one is possibly a friend friend if you know what I mean, we have common interest and chat about crap and have a good friendship. The wifes family is basically her younger brother and sister and her deranged mother who to be honest wont' even realise if we upped and left to live in another country. So to keep winning millions secret from family is real easy for us.

If you wanted to let people know you have some good fortune then why not just tell them you won £500,000 10 years ago and you invested it and got the winnings to work for you.

I would have to come up with a story, other than a lottery win, to how i am buying this nice car and this large house.

The most I ever won was £12.50 on the lottery way back in 2008, which allowed me to almost break even with my previous lottery tickets haha

However, if I did win, I suppose the first thing I would do is take an impromptu trip to Bali and then Montenegro to figure some things out and come back and say I won some good money in the casinos...

My parents would get a nice house and a Jaguar; my brother would get a nice house and a Land Rover; I would buy myself a small cottage or country house in a good area (as it will only be me living there) and a Porsche Turbo from the 1980s era which will be my pride and joy as well as a Victory 8-Ball or Harley Davidson.

I will probably turn my Corsa into a fully restored and bonkers drag strip car, pushing 900+ horsepower. My MR2 will get a full restoration, perhaps with a Beams engine and my ZR-7 will be restored as well. I will carry on using these when the Porsche or Victory/Harley Davidson are off the road. I will also treat myself to a Grand Seiko, Zenith, and Vacheron Constantin timepieces.

The rest of my winnings would be invested in two holiday homes for my family, some property across the world and sustainable business startups. I will get my pilot or helicopter license and I would go into business for myself doing clever things with science and technology.

I can only dream... haha

Pay my debt of would actually be the first thing I'd do, buy a house, put money to side for son when he is older.

Usual stuff then holiday, car, etc

Default answer to all of these is;

Take a month's unpaid leave off work and go on holiday with the Wife\Kids to mull it over.

And tell nobody.

first thing i would do in all honesty would be make every member of my family a millionaire. then obviously the usual holiday, big house, cars etc.

Big hearted, commendable thought, but as most extended families have separate patriarchal figures, e.g. your brother has a wife, two kids, four grandkids, your cousins are in similar setups, might it not be better to give them X amount, and let them distribute that among their dependants etc?

Tell nobody I agree with, but unpaid leave? That suggests that your ultimate intention is to return to work.
No matter how much you like your job, if you won £160,000,000, would you seriously plan on returning to work?

i have a rather small family left and that's including the young ones.

I'd quit my job immediately...

Find a nice, but not too extravagant house in a nice quiet area, with a bit of land. Furnish it and have all the nice stuff I've always wanted but couldn't justify buying now. Awesome music listening/home cinema room, that kind of thing.

Have a full on garage built with space for about 20+ cars, and all the kit for me to do things myself. Pillar lifts, presses, lathes, fitting machines, etc... And take courses on tig welding, and using the machines I don't know how to use properly.

Then start buying cars and be the happiest man alive... Who says money can't buy happiness. :p

I wouldn't even turn up to work if i won the mega jackpot, They normally open the banks on a Sunday in the UK if you are a winner so they can open a line of credit for you to have some fun with while the jackpot transfer is handled properly.

There are 4 people who would know, that would be my parents and my 2 sisters, they would obviously tell their children and partners but no one else would be told by me.

Knowing my luck i'd win the jackpot and then have a heart attack at the thought of retiring at 28 :p
