Guess I'd best do an actual sensible thread then to break things up a bit.
I was rummaging through some of my old stuff the other day and found my old Walkman, Discman, Minidisc and loads of other goodies I used to use as a youngster. Kids nowadays will never know the magic of mixtapes, browsing CD shops for ages and listening to the CDs on the shop's headphones prior to laying down the cash. Same with DVDs. How many hours have most of us spent browsing DVDs at Blockbuster as kids, checking out the age restrictions on films and using every tactic in the book to try watch them?
I see kids on skateboards and roller blades occasionally so I guess there's still that, but what about BMX? And those Raleigh Choppers?
Nowadays it all seems to be tablets, phones and consoles, everything is on demand, I can't help but feel that today's yoofs are gonna be missing out on a lot of the magic we had as kids.
So what are the current gen youngsters gonna look back fondly on when they grow up?
(I don't have kids and most of my mates with kids all live far enough away that when we get together it's about us and the kids go to mum or whatever, so my exposure is rather limited).
Go on GD, enlighten me!
And happy Friday
