Thinking about a GPU upgrade and not wanting to buy 2nd hand or even think about Nvidia pricing.

Currently running an AMD Fury but with the current pricing on Vega64 cards £450 ( maybe going lower still? ) and also wanting to stay with AMD is the time right?

Am I looking a small step up in performance or decent?

Opinions?
 
clock for clock Vega and Fury are pretty similar. so depends how high your Fury is clocked and the difference between that and a potential Vega Card.

the 8GB of vram is good though so there will be tangible benefits there since a lot of games are now taking more than 4GB on middle to high settings.
 
The first question that needs to be asked is: Why do you want to upgrade now? Secondly, your resolution & games, as well as particular fussiness (e.g. very sensitive to framerate or not, hung up on ultra or not, do you tweak settings or not etc.)
 
TODAY ONLY on Powercolor, won't get cheaper I think and nearly sold out and looks like we won't be getting any more as most board partners are ceasing production simply because VEGA loses them money.

Do you have freesync monitor? Have you updated the FuryX with the AMD UEFI bios which improves performance and allows 1190 overclock?
