HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I just read that

im back yup no fire

Ok so the first bit of info is my psu been working since September 2015 right, 550w super flower sf-550p14he...
It ran a
Cpu: 4ghz phenom
Ram: 15gb
Gpu : radeon r9 fury x
Hdd: loads of old power hungry shiz
The system was tweeked AS *** No Disguised swearing ***.... psu took everything.. power blasts ..u name it.. it ran fine..

I switched over to a haswell -e based 5820k 4.3ghz
8gb ram this time.. 8 months ..fine
Then i moved house......been here 3-4 weeks?
Psu trips the breaker when the pc was on idle (i was in the bathroom) i reset everything.. boot the pc and the psu gave power to the pc for half a second and never turns on again...

Now 4 days ago i got a evga 650gq... i thought maybe the 550w psu couldn't handle the fiji xt & haswell-e overclock yea... so i went for a 650w....

Everything is fine... i am gaming.. .. leave the pc for maybe 15-20mins (i think the game was running).. am downstairs daydreaming and next thing u know

"LOUD POP" .. circuit breaker switches off again

I find out.. the psu don't turn on anymore..

So i switched the power cable to another one..
I flip the socket switch on (different socket but on same... socket) and then the psu gave a real loud POP.

Anyone here know whats going on?

See bailey my gut instinct worked out. Is good i didn't get the psu here, because i doubt i would get a refund on this....

This to me don't sound like a pc problem...... hmmm

This may be a fuse box / windows 10 insider problem... of when it enters idle mode..and a game is running...it goes into crazy power draw..

I noticed the other day when i alt tabbed out of a game.. my gpu/headphones started screetching loud.. as if it was going 50000fps

I had radeon FRTC enabled though....

If this is a windows 10 problem... this is bad.. because everyone now is complaining files get deleted from a new update.... well my whole desktop got deleted 8 months ago in a windows insider preview build...

Eventually the build im on now will go public

My household power is ok with the latest Windows Insider Program :D
Your symptoms sound more like a dodgy earth leakage system. Either you have a dodgy earth somewhere or your earth leakage component in your consumer unit. Might be sensible to get a qualified electrician to check out your home electrics.
Andi.

Its happen twice, when the pc has been idle and around the same time aswel

Im on the skip ahead ring but not the latest version,

U may be right

I think this has nothing to do with your computer. Unplug it and wait a week. Plug a kettle into that socket and test the kettle. If your breaker trips > not the PC's fault.

Screen was in the same socket .....
That works...hmmmmmmmm

Is your pc plugged directly into a wall socket?
It wasnt then.. was in a square multi plug thing...13amp.. ill check how many volts....

When i changed the socket and it popped the 2nd time....that was by its self....

Are other devices in your house working ok, such as the TV?
Yup

Turns out it was a virus...
I looked at logs.. and 1min before the pc blew up.. windows defender was trying to stop a virus from activating....

Its still on the pc.. i think i have deactivated it... bt ye..

Im at 750watts now so.. thats enough for full vrm blasting of my system..gpu will throttle anyway

Scary right...

U guys wanna take a look at the files.. i have a few of them quarenteened and one in my recycle bin....
Most of the reg keys are deleted n a few dll files..
It made a false windows explorer executable that messed with windows explorer....

It tried to execute the same time the psu blew...

Maybe it was trying to mine?
I noticed my cpu voltage of 1.3v was at 1.31 somehow so...it was doing something intencive...

The hardware can only draw as much as it can draw. Peak load on your system shouldn't be too much for your psu :/

Ye.. it can draw around 750ish watts ...

I had a 550w & 650 psu that went....
Anyway its still early days yet..
Lol im a bit scared to leave the pc alone idle

Hahahahaha
come on man...
What else could it be?
People say the online psu calculators are wrong.. but if u look at max power draw.... they are bang on....

I still have the files.. if anyone wants to run a vm and infect themselves for testing

Still thanks once again ocuk.. u offered me a deal
I appriciate that and owe u back

People say my setup needs a 1KW PSU. 2x overclocked R9 390 8GB's and a 5GHz i7 etc.

I run it 24/7 at 100% load and have done for the past couple of years doing a mixture of distributed computing and mining, never skipped a beat.

I very VERY much doubt it is related to peak power draw.
