I'm looking to get some RAM for an 8700k.

It's going into a mini itx Asus H370-i, so I only have 2 RAM slots.

Ultimately I'd like 32GB for Adobe photo and video editing, but due to budget constraints I'm thinking of going 16GB first and upgrading later.

If I get a single stick of Crucial CT16G4DFD824A, do you think this stick alone, and also when paired with a second one in the future would be suitable for a reasonable 4.5 - 4.7Ghz overclock?

Thanks :)

3200 MHz is still the sweet spot for performance and price, got 16GB of Team Group Dark Pro from the site to go with an 8086k i won.

Easily. As fast as you are willing to pay for really.

With 2 slots it should be able to manage over 4000mhz however at that kind of speed they get expensive.

I have my 8086k at 5.2ghz and 4x8gb corsair dominator 3866mhz no issues.

As Mauller has said 3200mhz is still pretty much the sweet spot on speed and pricing.

Hi does timing matter much?

You can't OC at all on H chipset board only Z.

Hi 8pack, for 8086k on a Z390 board, what RAM would you reccomend? I'm struggling to track down reasonably priced g.skill RAM etc. which will work with most Z390 mobos.. not sure if CL14 RAM is worth it or not. Any advice boss?
