Hello guys Ive purchase Gigabyte gtx 1080ti OC Black from ocuk and it has a noticeable coil whine. The coil whine increases as fps gets higher thus I turned G-sync on my monitor which reduced the fps -> reduced coil wine but it is still there. Further as fps fluctuate it gets better and worse depending on a game.

The coil whine is noticeable but my computer is at my desk. With quiet fan profile it is audible with fans at moderate settings e.g. 1300 rpm slightly noticeable

My question is that would ocuk replace it? Also @Gibbo did you have any returns from the stock from gtx 1080ti gaming oc black stock you got as a deal price re coil whine?

My current pc specs
(no OC on cpu or gpu as I prefer to keep my system cool and silent)

Intel Core i5 8600C
Asus ROG STRIX Z370-E GAMINGSAMSUNG 500GB 970 EVO M.2
750W EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G3 PSU
Gigabyte GTX 1080ti gaming OC Black

I’ve got a gigabyte 1080 and it has coil whine, it’s worse since I overclocked it.

It’s running on g-sync and never goes above 120Hz. Doesn’t bother me, but if it bothers you best thing to do is to open an RMA with OC and see what they say.

Might depend on manufacturer, but I had coil whine on a 1070ti jetstream and ocuk said it's not a fault, so no rma. Would have had to use dsr to send it back. I never bothered as it seemed to quiet down after a few hours of heavy gaming.

My Inno3d 1080ti 2x didnt have coil whine when i got it but has within the last few weeks developed a nasty case of it.. :S thank god for my DT 770 pro's, GF aint that happy about it though :P
