'Indonesian policewomen measured through 'purity and beauty', subjected to virginity testing'

Are they hiring for testers? I'm in.

You'd best hope they do the beauty screening before the finger test, you never know what sort of munter could be under the veil.

I believe there’s a few female Silvers in the Met that already select new female team members using a variant of this test where the passing criteria is that the tester can go wrist-deep without using lube.

As far as I understand it the armed forces using a similar selection criteria :D

I think we're getting quite off topic here and ignoring the really issue - women are being sexually assaulted in order to get a job.

Not particularly, while intrusive it isn't really sexual assault. There are other contexts where a medical professional might need to look at or touch those areas as part of a medical examination in the UK too... obviously the purpose of the examination is different but you could make the same claim... Are school kids who are lined up in front of an office to walk in and have a cough test performed by a doctor victims of sexual assault too?

I guess the women concerned are "giving their content" to this examination in order to get the job, if they didn't give their consent this would definitely be "sexual assault".

And the same applies to the cough test or sticking a finger up your bum etc...

Well I think both those tests are looking for medical conditions such as a hernia or an enlarged prostate, I'm not sure "not being a virgin" can be classified as a medical condition ;) (if it is a have a miracle cure I can administer to young attractive ladies of my choosing)

There is no doctor involved in these cases.

I wouldn’t bother, I applied, and was told to go to Carmarthen, South Wales.
“Is that where the interview will be?”, I asked.
“No, that’s the end of the queue”, I was told.

You're pointing out something I already highlighted in a previous post that you already replied to, I'm not sure therefore what your pint is?

have they stopped tugging on kids testicles in schools ?
im pretty sure most kids when i was in school objected to it but you were forced to have it done.

Jeez, I dodged a bullet in not going to your school, but to think that Jennifer Nichols was exploring mine herself with some gentle persuasion, schooldays CAN be the happiest days of your lives.
p.s. If anyone reading this married a Jennifer Nichols, my one wasn’t your one, mkay?

They did that at the catholic school i went to, I never understood why a priest had to do it

Since the implication is that this is because of Islam, one would imagine that other Muslim countries carry out similar tests (which aren't in fact Islamic) while not enforcing the hijab (which is in fact very much Islamic and a requirement according to most schools of fiqh).

Looks like they've used the old two finger test for army recruits as well:

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-32748248

Apparently it's been carried out in the UK in the past:

"Tests on some female immigrants from India, Bangladesh and Pakistan were carried out until 1979."

40 years ago with very different logic behind it.

You seem offended? Would you like me to remove the reference to the UK? It's no trouble.

It's a completely superfluous historical reference. We're talking about something being done today and youre talking about something that was stopped 40 years ago! Id imagine thats before the majority of members on here were even born.

I added it because I was surprised it had happened here, but you're right - it was indeed superfluous to the point I was making.
