Will there be an x299 refresh?

There is going to be a new chipset for the bigger LGA3647 socket of course. Not clear on X299 however, but this slide from the recent show suggest not: https://www.forbes.com/sites/antony...o-using-soldered-heat-spreaders/#23bbd3ad4d7d . Can still see on the slide image it still mention's X299 chipset, though who knows, could just be a placeholder or something. At minimum I expect a refresh of motherboards for LGA2066.

Yes there will be a refresh of all x299 cpu called Basin Falls. Due pretty soon...

The 28c is a totally different prospect on a different platform entirely.

@8 Pack

I know the processors are being refreshed (i7-9800X, i9-9820X, i9-9900X, i9-9920X, i9-9940X, i9-9960X and i9-9980XE)

I didn't know if we should expect a new Intel chipset to accommodate them?

Anything rumoured? With Intel bringing out the '9 series' X processors at the end of the year I didn't know if there was going to be something like an x499 chipset?

Aorus will have the Xtreme for the x299 being released, pretty much like the X399 Xtreme

couldn't remember if the were going to call chipset Z399 to separate the new LGA3647 as being the leaidng Platform by keeping the X , or just keeping it x299 . intel changes a lot of things quickly ...

should be a Meg as well i believe .

question is, if they keep 8 doubled (16 phase) set up like the z390 boards rated at 50Amps or move to better mosfet at 60amps etc
