"Human urine has been used to create environmentally friendly bricks by university students in South Africa.

They combined urine with sand and bacteria in a process that allows the bricks to solidify at room temperature.

"It's essentially the same way that coral is made in the ocean," Dyllon Randall, their supervisor at the University of Cape Town, told the BBC.

Normal bricks need to be baked in high-temperature kilns that produce large amounts of carbon dioxide."

Now, if the urine donors took Viagra, could they get the bricks to erect themselves?

Not sure I would want to live in urine brick gaff sounds kind of offensive.

And at 1 brick per 100 pees, it could take a while to build a township.

Lol and the flag pole debate rages on.

Having read that thread, I'm not sure Evangelion has done himself any favours by raising it again.

Chris's description of the pole was a little ambitious, or perhaps even ironic, but he provided proof of its existence via a trusted mod and got no apologies from those saying or implying he was lying.

Fine if you still don't believe his evidence, but moving the focus to the quality of the flag pole relative to the (albeit embellished) description is just embarrassing.

Raymond Lin also surpassed himself in that thread with his lack of objectivity and humility in the face of being proven wrong.

- urine is sterile and if you can use it building then why not i guess. If you remove the need for specialist equipment to produce bricks then it sounds like a great idea. Housing conditions in south africa are terrible for the indigenous population, from first hand experience.
- I'm amazed CW gives the least bit of a **** about a confederate flag. +reads thread+ ahh, he doesn't. maybe he'd have had more joy with the bet if it were a charity of the betters choosing or he had at least named the charity. Why would anyone agree to those terms when it feels like a trap? actual bait. it's all a bit katie hopkins trial haha.

But it wouldn't be GD if people didn't quibble over the nature of a flagpole and take very literally wording that is often used in a throwaway context hah.

I saw this the other day, sounds like a great idea. Going to assume people are going to be selling urine by the tanker loads one day, it all be recycled and used for bricks.
