Magna Carta theft attempt

Summed up in 2 posts, either going to be some solo looney or stolen to order.

Going by the quality of the attempted heist, I'll go with the first

What an absolute ****house that guy is...

I've lived next door to him for the last 20 years and every time i asked to borrow a hammer.....he said he hadn't got one.

Hur hur :)

He’s claiming it was his right and privilege to steal it!

Not sure what he planned to do with it after lol

I assumed it would be behind much tougher glass though tbh. He almost got to it.

He might have planned to hold it for ransom

Criminal gangs do that with art. But I think if they tried that with state owned artifacts they would be running from forces they just won't be able to handle.

think idiot who beleives a load of mumbo jumbo about how you have multiple identities and the state tries to own you by having your legal identity which is denoted by the fact that things like birth certificates have the name in capitols (nothing to do with the fact it's easier to read especially when done on mechanical typewriters etc), and that the courts are in fact admiralty ones and have no jurisdiction over someone who is special and knows their rights - you know it's an admiralty court because they refer to the "dock".

Basically a bunch of easily led numpties who are often desperate and willing to grasp ad any straw (a lot of "freemen" types seem to target people who are in debt etc).

There was some degree of preplanning which is a tad unusual for most of the spur of the moment loonies. They usually look for the first heavy thing they can find, usually a fire extinguisher, then try to get into the case. The people who steal things to order, which is a lot rarer than most people think, are usually a lot more competent than trying to smash a case with a hammer in broad daylight.

I however am tad surprised that it was stored in a case that was so easy to break into. Normally you would put something as valuable as this would be in a case that would be able to stand up to quite a bit of abuse. Half inch think laminated glass etc.

People like this guy, after contact with some freeman of the land types he apparently decided he'd paid his bank "enough" (while paying an interest only mortgage and not the endowment) and was upset when they came and repossessed his house - he's bit of a Jeremy Corbyn type, to the naive he comes across as friendly, polite, sincere etc.. but is really just a complete and utter numpty. Even after all his freeman stuff didn't save his house rather than realising it was all nonsense he seems to have doubled down and is promoting a new movement:
