Winter Blues do you suffer ?

Mondays I do speed intervals, Wednesdays endurance intervals, Fridays are a hard distance session, Tuesday/Thursday and some Saturdays are slow steady state sessions of 10-14km. Usually works out about 50-60km a week

How long per session in minutes? Are you mega fit?

Most sessions are around an hour or less including warm up/cool down. I can do a sub 7min 2km (just) so am reasonably fit for a lightweight.

It helps that I actually enjoy it and I've made it part of my routine. I also always need a target to aim for otherwise I think I'd stop. In the summer I was off to the alps so was keeping my fitness up for that, now I'm aiming for a race in February. I still really struggle for motivation in the mornings during the winter months though, so vit D, Hue lights and the radio coming on help me not just hibernate!

Think I’ll buy a concept2...best place to buy one ?

Agreed. I reckon if I could drag myself into exercise every morning I'd be less depressed :)
10 minutes of good pushing will be enough to make a difference. 1 minute slow warm up, 2 minutes steadily getting faster every 30 seconds, then drop down to a slow go for 1 minute. another 2 minutes of push, 1 minute slow, 2 more minutes of your max push and then final minute slow cool down and you're done. will feel good and not be much of your day lost.

I ended up buying a new one direct from them. I looked around eBay for ages but they were all either abused ex gym machines or fairly old and the price they went for wasn't much off the price of a brand new one.

Forgot to mention earlier that I bought a turbo trainer last Xmas, effectively turning my road bike into an indoor exercise bike. It enabled me to keep training/exercising on the bike during the prolong Beast Of The East winter, but it gave me very little help with combating the SAD fatigue, compared to riding outdoors. I coped with winter 2017 far better with the outdoor riding of ~60mins most days, but winter 2018 was a real struggle and the woolly feel lasted well into June, due to a lack of recreational rides from January until April.

I've yet to use the turbo trainer this autumn, but depending upon the weather, I intend to strike a much better balance of gentle recreational rides outdoors and power training indoors to hopefully make getting through this winter far easier than last.

Can get one on interest free for 12 months. Might just do that :)

I've not really noticed it but then I've not particularly analysed it either (i.e. tried to identify if my mood is any different).

I tend to get stressed/feeling down at Christmas but that's more to do with family history than the weather, I also dislike snow because it makes it very difficult for me to see (cataracts) and walk around safely.

I guess I do notice the converse a bit, e.g. when the clocks go forward and it becomes light when getting home from work, that feels like a bit of a win, in contrast to winter when I leave the office knowing I've got a couple hours in the dark before getting home.

We don't have winter in Australia. We just have a brief period during which the skin cancer rate drops by ~2%.
