AMD RADEON RX 580 vs 1060 6gb??

But that's not true - Radeons always lagged in performance - HD 3870 to 8800 GTX/Ultra, HD 4890 to GTX 280, R9 390X to GTX 980Ti, and so on and so for.
No they didn't, 4870 was better bang for buck, 5870 was faster than anything for at least 6 months-cost £300 tremendous value, 6950's@£180 that flashed to 69506970's, 7950's that oc'ed like champs- they sold bucket loads of all of them, each one was better than a more expensive Nv variant, but the 290 series was too late and the start of the troubles-I had every one of them or CrossFired them, they were outstanding-but you would have to ask them why they stood still resulting in their marketshare nosediving.

So if we choose to buy what we wan't blame AMD for consistently not giving an option much past a 70 series Nv gpu-not us!

Yeah, but the customers who troll AMD by buying GeForces are responsible for this. AMD can't pour cash and time all the time for some things which are not bought.

Erm... what am I supposed to take away from these two posts?

You believe AMD made weaker cards but that everybody should have bought them regardless?

So confused :p

These 7nm GPUs are little problematic because we can't be sure when they will see the light of the day.
So, it is tempting to get the new RX 590, but still somehow the upgrade doesn't look all that huge:

True, we don't know when they're coming, that's why I decided to wait to do an upgrade. It was cheapish after selling my 380 which was about 2 1/2 years old. My 380 was struggling, my 580 isn't.

Historically, weaker cards in the halo segment were results of their decision to stick to smaller dies sizes and try to fight based on costs/prices.
Yees, people should buy them when they are the cheaper option, regardless of whether they come sooner or later.
