Pc to pc file transfer dropping to 0mb/s

I’m trying to replace some damaged video files to my openelec htpc in the living room from my bedroom pc. It starts of at 11mb then it will just drop to zero forever.
You tube works fine and I’m getting 65mbps on Speedtest,

The htpc is connected to a virgin hub 3 which is connected to a WiFi router upstairs to my pc all connected by Ethernet. Hub to upstairs router and router to pc Ethernet is a diy job totaling 60m. (I have used the whole 60m reel to connect the hub to the pc before with no issues @11mbs)

I have googled this and unchecked remote differential compression api support.

I have used power plugs from the hub 3 to pc and the same 11mbs then zero (bypassed Ethernet cable from downstairs hub 3 to upstairs router)

I have moved the upstairs power plug closer to pc with different Ethernet cable and now I’m getting 8mbs then zero.
I have notice that it randomly starts at kbs then stops.

I’m going to leave it running overnight and see what happens.

Then I haven’t a clue, so what do I check/ do next?

I’m transferring using Windows explorer by typing the htpc’s IP address

Get a gigabit switch.

Transfer speed will be 110MB/s (if both devices are gigabit)

I had a similar experience recently. It was a failing hard drive, which was also the reason for the corrupted videos.

Update
It’s transferring just very slow.
Transfer one, the a team season 1 51%
Seasons 2-5 15%.

Blead a switch is the plan but not if I can’t get this to work.

Buffalo, it’s a wd red, there all reds 3x 2tb in htpc and a 6tb I’m pc. A few episodes of season 3,4and 5 the image pauses and the sound carries on then Kodi crashes.

How do I check the drives? Defragler on the pc says heath is good.
Hopefully there still under warranty

I dont really know mate. Mine was one of 3 x 4tb Seagate drives in RAID0. I had no warnings of drive issues. I just had to narrow things down to the point where it had to be a drive. A right pain to find, fix and then restore over 10tb of data.

I would try copying the files to another drive to rule out issues with the storage

I’ll try transferring from and to different drives after I fed the kids. The playback issue is on the pc only with seasons 3 and 4 all other films and box sets are fine. But I haven’t used the htpc for a while because my av receiver has stopped playing dts master Yamaha want 300squid just to supply a new sound board the amp was only 450
