New TV for Consoles & Netflix.

My Sony W6 43 inch TV has come up with some pixels after 4 years I will be getting £480 refund, can anyone recommend me 43-50 inch TV.

I will be using it for PS4 and watching netflix/amazon prime etc I sit about six feet away form the TV would a 42 inch 4k be to small form that distance.

So far i have found Hisense H506200UK for £350 which al ot of review sites say its best budget you TV you can get?

I was looking at Philips 50PUS6703 for £480 is it worth paying more?

The NU8000 has extremely low input lag it's the best gaming TV you can buy from a performance perspective period.

It's £729 if you get john Lewis to price match crampton and Moore.

It's also 55 inch. I know you don't want to spend another £200 bit by not doing so you are going from rolls Royce to a fiesta.

I would strongly urge to spend the extra £200 you know John Lewis offer 0% interest free?

If you really don't want to then i'd probably look at lg, Sony, Samsung or Panasonic. Phillips isn't well regarded and hisense is also crap. The colours on them are terrible. They also have issues with soap opera effect i believe it's called.

I will hold out and see if thiers a price drop my TVs have always been Samsung or Sony rather stick with them. Just rather spend the money elsewhere.... Why are these reviews saying the hisense is good...

I could point you to a thousand threads where John Lewis have replaced faulty TVs and went above and beyond what other retailers would

The same reason why reviews say that the dacia is a good car because for £5k brand new there is no other option which is better.

Hisense is really cheap that it falls into budget range. The only competition they have is from the likes of Polaroid, vestel, etc.

In terms of price they are good. For picture quality they are awful.

Same goes for a brand new dacia. You won't get a better car for £5k new but then why aren't there more of them on the road? It's because they aren't a nice place to be inside them and build quality is seriously lacking.

Can you link me to a review for the exact model you are looking to buy from one of the 3 following sites:

Rtings
Avforums
Hdtvtest

Dont look at reviews elsewhere these 3 are the only places you should be looking. They know how to review a TV properly.

The reason I was considering the hisense was due to the AV forums review they liked i and said build quality is solid and the input lag is 24ms. HDR sucks like all sub 1k TVs.

200 nits means it's not HDR.

that one looks like it might be a decent option for the money.

a lot of the range is hit and miss with hisense.

read that - it looks like hisense send cherry picked tv's to be reviewed by avforums. so it's possible the ones being sold in shops are much inferior tv's.

I will check out these TVs V cheers , I recently had awfully after care support with JL trying to get my sister's MacBook sorted. I had a to take it up with head office... It's like any company's really I guess it's who you speak to on the day.

Like Sony for instance I have had TV snice 2013 and managed to get full refund after speaking to manager, as the technical support kept offering me a TV which had less features thank my current one.

BTW, look at buying from Richer Sounds, they come with a six year guarantee.

Just ignore PsychoSonny, there may be some truth in what he says but you'll have to find it underneath all the steaming piles of hyperbole. Find some options in your budget, look around at a few different reviews, places like What Hifi are pretty reliable.

I wouldn't place too much stock in seeing the TV in person as they are usually set up poorly, and crappy sets can look relatively good in harsh bright showroom lighting.

No-one reviews AV gear without ridiculous flowery language :P Their ratings are reliable in my experience, I've never disagreed with the conclusions of their reviews, or been disappointed by one of their recommended products.

Just find they buy into the whole hyperbole - lost all confidence in their reviews a while back. I find they're not objective enough, and don't like to buy stuff based on other people's opinions without trying first

Anyhow, back on topic :P

The hisense you're looking at will be perfect for what you're after. It's a very decent image (as long as you're not expecting HDR), and it'll do the job very nicely for the next few years.

All I will say is, you get what you pay for :-)

Seems to be a recent change in customer service though - as a few people have told me, JL of old would have replaced no questions asked.

I bought from them on the reputation they had for excellent customer service, this however seems to be a thing of the past, and given the trouble I'm having with them (even essentially denying me consymer rights), I would rather buy elsewhere for anything going forwards.
