so i have at last got my rtx 2080 up and running after some messy delivery issues.

anyway happy to have it but i have an issue.

Sometimes my pc from sleep just shows a black screen.

I have my rift plugged into the display port, and my monitor/tv plugged into the hdmi. i tried to access the rift and the PC screen and both just showed black.

im a bit confused by this.

any help/fixes?

im hoping it was somehow related to me using a 10m hdmi for the monitor but it shouldn't explain why the rift had no signal. slightly worried as i don't want to RMA.

It's most likely a Windows power management issue or driver issue rather than your GPU itself.

Googling around there could be a couple of things that could resolve it, such as repairing windows with typing this into command prompt:

SFC /scannow

2070 here and screen doesn't wake up either, I've set screen to always on, I'd say both are a driver problem just now as my 1070@launch had the same problem for a while until Nv fixed it.

To be fair Display port is buggy as hell like that sometimes regardless...

I get this sometimes with my Vega64. I think it's windows more than anything.

They just don't like sleep sometimes so it's better to just disable it.

I have the same issue, I'm having a RTX 2080 FE, SF600, Asus X470 i and Ryzen 2700x.
Before the new Bios update on X470 i at 11/23/2018, whenever I hit a black screen, my windows event log would show something like "nvlddmkm" error, I have a post on geforce form, after the bios update of my motherboard, I would still occur the same issue, but this time I check my event log, it would show a event log error 6008, I have tried everything, massing with sleep setting, bios, reinstall windos, but I still don't know what went wrong, so far I might think this might be a motherboard issue or graphic card problem
