Hi all

my GTX760 is getting a bit long in the tooth now and as OCUK have some really good deals on AMD RX cards at the moment I'm going to bite the bullet and get a new card. Now, the question is do I go for an 8Gb one or will the 4Gb version suffice.

I'm a bit new to this gaming lark so any thoughts as to which to go for. BTW, I also do a lot of photography and design work with Adobe CC and the gaming side will be about 30% of the time used.

Current specs of my machine are
Intel i5 7600K
Asus Z270 Tuf
24 Gig Fury 2400Mhz
2 x 250Gb Samsung M.2 SSD

Hi,

Definitely go for 8GB because more and more games and game settings will need over 4GB.

What card was you thinking of getting?

The price difference is very small on certain cards and in the RX570 section some of the 8gb are cheaper than the 4gb ones.

So another vote for the 8gb version.

Yes you are right about the 8gb version being cheaper, my first thought was "why though" ????
Looking at the Sapphire RX 570 Nitro+ 8Gb version it is a lot cheaper than the 4Gb version... £169 and £189 respectively

Probably because the 4GB versions are old stock at old prices... and don't get discounts and new quantities.

depends what you are playing at your settings/resolutions?

i have the rx 570 8gb nitro and so far only CoD:IW and RB6S and the division i remember correctly have used 4gb plus vram consistently on highest like settings and i run a basic 1366x760 screen(tv), i cant remember if doom has, but every other game that has demands hasnt touched anywhere near.

i got my card for £180 as it was with prime and at the time this was before any sales came about, so given the pricing now especially on this site, id get the 8gb versions just because of that not to mention if you buy on here you get 3 very cool games.. you get the games with 4gb versions, but its a no brainer still.

If you're not interested in the games then the large online rainforest place has The RX580 8gb Sapphire Nitro+ Special Edition RX580 for £180.

But the games, if interested in even one of them, probably make the RX570 the better deal.

I saw that when I was looking the other day, they are not an authorised Sapphire retailer though and OCUK is so I went with them, don't fancy having any hassle with amazon if the card goes faulty in a few months time.
Card is due for delivery tomorrow :)

ive had my 570 for over a week now and no issues, was brand new from the 'zon', to be fair since i signed up for prime many months ago ive had no issues with anything ive purchased and its not all been tech stuff, the returns process wouldnt be anywhere near as bad as the 'bay', i used to use them lots before 'zon' and in the end was a terrible experience due to poor sellers/buyers the whole process as you have to use paypal unlike 'zon'.

however as i might have implied, the game bundle didnt exist at the time and that is not a place to get such offers anyways, i dont know if ocuk is the best and only play to obtain the deals.
