) his one extravagance is he goes on a 28 night cruise on the Queen Mary II annually.Say Whaaaaat?once won tree fiddy the cashier at the local corner shop would not pay me out so i standed and bang.

I know a guy who won £7.5m on the lottery back in 2005, he drove trucks with me, working nights, lived in a modest house, drove a Mondeo.
He still works nights driving trucks, still drives a Mondeo (albeit a new one) still lives in the same house!
His nearest and dearest are all now set up for life (I wasn’t near or dear enough alas) his one extravagance is he goes on a 28 night cruise on the Queen Mary II annually.
I’ve never won sod all worth mentioning but if I did, I hope I’d follow his example.
If you have a lot of expensive stuff you suddenly have a lot of worries. Unless you are so super rich that you can afford to replace everything, or can have your own private security force.surprised to hear he still drives trucks and drives a mondeo, i get being abit cautious as there is a lot of stories of people wasting that kind of money and ending up back to square one, fair play to the guy i guess if that is what he wants to do with his life

But have a really expensive car, etc, just means you're a big target.
I can certainly understand giving it away to nearest and dearest. Keeping enough to live comfortably but normally. I wouldn't choose to work a 9-5 job tho, I'd immerse myself in ... most likely ... gardening & bottany. I'd much, much rather put the money to use in travelling (with purpose, not touristy crap), learning, etc, than owning a fancy car or a mansion - stuff that doesn't matter, ties you down, and becomes a worry.
