Hi all

Never been in this situation before, wondering if anyone has ..

I sold a console like 2 weeks or so ago, apparently got there faulty, I tried to help the buyer and they couldn't get it to work, so they opened a return request for a full refund, so I started it and paid eBay to send them a postage lable.
Roll on to the 21st , the last day it supposed to arrive back to me, and they still have not posted it to me, I've had no communication from them whatsoever.

Today I was hoping eBay have closed the request in my favour but not done so yet

Should I do anything? Or do I just wait ?

Cheers

If yesterday was the last day they were supposed to send it back, get right on the phone to ebay now and they will close the return. The buyer had ample opportunity to send it back. Ebay's automated system for closing these cases can sometimes take weeks after the return date passes. Then just hope the buyer doesn't open a paypal case as they have up to 6 months to open a request with paypal

Wait it out, unless it turns up today the return will be closed. I dont believe they can open one back up.

If the seller sent a returns label, the buyer had to upload tracking to show it had been sent by the deadline on ebay. If they didn't then tough cookies to the buyer. Doesn't matter if it does show up, don't have to refund them if they didn't upload tracking details and ebay closes the case.

So they could upload the details today then?

"Doesn't matter if it does show up, don't have to refund them if they didn't upload tracking details and ebay closes the case"

I mean no but that's just dirt.

They can upload a tracking number any point up until ebay closes the case. Once the case is closed the buyer is out of luck unless they know they can make a separate dispute through paypal, who will do the same as ebay, tell them to return it and the buyer will have to upload valid tracking details.

I had this with some idiot that despite the listing stating a fault started arguing with me about it, I actually knew he would be trouble when before paying he asked where I got it from, said about how he was good with the SOGA. Then he received it , eBay/PayPal issued him with a refund and he said how he wasn't going to send it back now anyway as it was ******. Along with a few other messages about how he had got it for free and had caused him to suffer with depression! After many calls to eBay they reversed the transaction and I got the money back and the negative feedback he left me removed, it caused another torrent of abuse from him about the feedback and the refund, I reported him to eBay but it doesn't look like anything has been done and his account is still open and he appears to frequently be leaving negative feedback to other sellers.

Sounds like someone trying in a more discreet way to get something for nothing, so just keep an eye on any messages related to it from eBay/PayPal or the buyer.

I wasn't on the phone to ebay for very long !!
they said that i have waited long enough and will close it in my favor and the buyer will be reported to the back ebay team thing

Pretty sure Paypal say for disputes to be done via Ebay so you should be safe.

It does say it on paypal, but you can still go onto the transaction on paypal and "report a problem" to dispute any payment, regardless if it was on ebay or not, up to 180 days after the transaction.
