Cannot believe I bought my MSI 1080Ti just before the mining craze for £709. Since then the prices have rarely been less...never known a component to hold value so well.

That probably they idea behind the pricing, as they can't restock the 1080ti's. And it makes the 2080's look better.

I am not surprised. 780Ti & 980Ti exhibit the same behaviour and remained at inflated price until their complete disappearance from the market.
Also many are buying 1080Ti over 2080, so time to jack prices and push them towards the RTX card which tbh, wasn't selling given the price point being higher than the 1080Ti.
For weeks there was stock on all the lines of the RTX2080.

Given the prices and issues with these cards I'm not even going to consider a 4k gaming machine for at least another 3 years.

Even that's too high for most to seriously consider if they look the complete package. Think this usually happens at EOL - last few remaining usually slowly sell at a higher price point unless they really can't shift them.

This is just OCUK trying to push people towards the Turing Turkey, AKA the 2080., with outlandish pricing.

You can get a 1080Ti for over £300 cheaper than these prices if you're prepared to look.
