Thanks. That's kind of what I was getting at, when I said it seems to be whats happening, but you've put it more eruditely.
FWIW I'm already aware that is what you were getting at the points I've made still stand and are in direct reply to that.

Intentionally knocking a moped driver off in pursuit when they are not wearing a helmet is extremely risky and could result in death. That is execution of a suspect without trial.

My granddaughter is a whiz at poster art, I’ll get her to make Lee’s words up into a poster, pin it on my bedroom wall, so I can gaze at it, then turn around, walk to the window, look across the roof of the house opposite, at Tower Bridge, some 900 metres to the West, drop to my knees, and thank the good Lord that I live in London.

Maybe not physical abuse in this day and age but there for all to see maybe some nice instagram shots that are hardwired into their accounts for 12 months.I agree, but use pillories rather than stocks.

As capital cities go, I think it is one of the worst in Western Europe at least. I suppose Paris has gone downhill also. I think even Budapest is a FAR nicer place to be.
I really wish it wasn't, perhaps its the people more than anything else? But everything is so crammed, frenetic, and dirty.
The underground does rule though, pretty decent with all the work they have done on the new lines.
